End-to-end encrypted · Zero-knowledge

Truly private email.

Every message is encrypted on your device before it leaves. koalo stores ciphertext it cannot open - no ads, no scanning, no phone number, no full IP addresses.

Free · Ready in under a minute · No personal data required

Private by architecture, not by promise.

Privacy that depends on a policy can change. Privacy built into the math cannot.

Zero-knowledge keys

Your keys are derived on your device and never leave it. We hold ciphertext we cannot open - there is nothing to leak, sell, or surrender.

End-to-end encrypted

Mail between koalo users is sealed with AES-256-GCM before it leaves your device and opened only by the recipient. Never in between.

No tracking, no ads

No analytics, no content scanning, no ad profiles. koalo adds no tracking of its own. Images in mail from outside koalo do load, so a sender can still learn that you opened their message.

No identity required

No phone number, no backup email, no real name. Sign-ins are recorded with a truncated network address rather than your full IP, and those records are deleted after 90 days.

Encrypted password vault

A built-in, zero-knowledge password manager - keys derived from your master password on your device, same as your mail, included free with every inbox.

Thinking of switching?

How koalo compares to the inbox you have today.

Standard for encrypted mail · three of four

End-to-end encrypted by default

No ads, no content scanning

Gmail has neither. Consumer accounts get no end-to-end encryption, and ads still run in the inbox tabs. Proton and Tuta match koalo on both.

Not universal · two of four

Sign-up without phone or personal data

Gmail's skip option is not guaranteed and is unavailable on desktop. Proton asks for no phone but usually runs another check. Tuta asks for nothing.

Every feature included, free

Proton and Tuta cap free accounts at 1 GB with no custom domain. Gmail's free tier is the one that fails the two claims above.

Only koalo · one of four

Zero-knowledge password vault inside the mail app

Proton ships one as a separate app, free tier included. Tuta has none. Google's lives in the browser, not the mailbox.

No imports, no migration wizard, no lock-in. Start fresh with an address that is actually yours.

Your address is waiting.
